Design inspiration
The Le Boy handbag debuted in the fall and winter of 2011 as a tribute from creative director Karl Lagerfeld to founder Coco Chanel.

Creative Director, Chanel
- Born: 1933 - 2019
- Nationality: Germany
- Served as Creative Director of Fendi (1965-2019), Creative Director of Chanel (1983-2019)
Coco Chanel would use the lining fabric of men's clothing to make skirts for women. She had a very boyish and straightforward attitude, which is also the spirit of the Chanel brand.
The bag is inspired by Coco Chanel's hunting bullet clip and adopts a full clamshell structure. The most iconic design element is the three-dimensional frame around the cover , which is like a cylindrical magazine for storing bullets.

The bag is named after Coco Chanel's lover, British businessman and polo player Arthur Boy Capel , who not only supported and sponsored Chanel to open its first boutique, but the pearl necklace and camellia he presented also became Chanel's most representative design elements.

After Boy Capel died in a car accident in 1919, Chanel vowed to let women all over the world wear black with her to mourn him, so she designed the famous "Little Black Dress" .

· Hard lines ·
The neat rectangular outline and the outer hard frame are the most iconic elements of the Boy handbag. Three full and stiff parallel frames outline the silhouette, and the straight lines add layers and three-dimensionality. The hard frame keeps the bag upright at all times, and it looks neat and stylish from the front or side, and it will not tip over when put down.

The internal compartment of the bag is slightly smaller than the size of the flap, and the leather on both sides is naturally folded, which has a certain degree of ductility, leaving some room for expansion of the internal space.

· Diamond check & grained cowhide·
The internal diamond quilted pattern is also one of Chanel's classic elements. It was inspired by the jacket of equestrian riders and was an idea that Coco Chanel got while watching horse racing.

The bag is made of navy blue grained calfskin . The raised grain texture reflects the night sky under the light and has excellent gloss.

The flexible calfskin will not show obvious creases when bent, and is not easy to scratch or wear.

· Retro lock ·
The retro lock of the handbag is very recognizable. It draws inspiration from antique padlocks and incorporates the iconic double C element. Press the rectangular snaps on both sides to pop the central lock cylinder back to open the flap. Made of ruthenium brass, it exudes a sense of retro age. The double C logo is inlaid in relief on the angular square, and the central lock cylinder is also engraved with the double C logo, giving people a sense of interlocking and staggered.

· Rugged chain ·

The shoulder strap of the bag also inherits the classic and free-spirited temperament, with a rough curb-style brass chain combined with an adjustable leather strap.

The hardware details are also very exquisite. The connecting buckle fixed on the flap echoes the square lock, and the CHANEL logo is engraved on the side. The shoulder strap adjustment buckle is also engraved with the double C logo.

What can this bag hold?
The lining of the bag is navy blue striped knitted fabric , which is soft and stretchable. There is a flat inner pocket on the back, with a leather label with a gold-stamped CHANEL logo in the center. We used it to carry a notebook, a card holder, an iPhone, a small perfume and a lipstick, which can basically meet our daily travel needs.
