BVLGARI launched the Serpentine small clutch bag for spring and summer 2023 , which adopts a soft and simple cloud bag shape . The biggest highlight is that the brand's iconic "snake" is given a new perspective. The winding snake body is transformed into a metal buckle , which is exquisitely outlined from the snake head to the snake tail, giving the clutch a mysterious and charming atmosphere.

This bag still uses the "Serpenti" as its core design element, inspired by the brand's first Serpenti series watch launched in 1948 .

The snake is one of the oldest animal totems in the world, symbolizing temptation, rebirth and transformation. The snake staff in the hands of Asclepius, the ancient Greek god of medicine, is a symbol of healing; Nehebkau, the primitive snake god of ancient Egypt, has the power to control souls; the half-snake god "Nuwa" in ancient Chinese mythology contains the mysterious power of reproduction; the first snake "Shesha" born in Indian culture dominates all celestial bodies in the universe. The snake is also one of the most important design themes of BVLGARI from the late 1940s to the present.

Inspired by the graceful and agile posture of the snake, the Serpentine clutch continues BVLGARI's exquisite jewelry craftsmanship - brass casting creates a winding snake shape, delicate gold carving diamond pattern reproduces snake scales, polishing creates shining and flowing light and shadow, and hand-painted red enamel eyes add charm.

The designer transformed this spirit snake into a metal buckle design, which not only removes the dull feeling brought by the metal square frame, but also perfectly outlines the graceful curved lines of the bag opening .
