The rectangular quilted plaid is the most representative design element of this bag. The soft lambskin is divided into full squares through quilting technology, highlighting the natural luster of the leather and adding a touch of retro style to the bag.
The history of matelassé quilting can be traced back 5,000 years ago, with traces of quilted clothing appearing on ivory carvings of the pharaohs of the First Dynasty of Egypt (3400 BC). By the 5th century AD, quilting had gradually become part of the traditional embroidery process and was used in the production of daily clothing.

The body and sides of the bag are quilted horizontally and vertically respectively, and the interweaving lines break the monotony. The edges are reinforced with leather piping to make the bag more upright. The bottom is rounded , and the smooth curves and soft leather create a comfortable atmosphere, which is fashionable and approachable.

The chain shoulder strap adds a modern touch to the bag, with a brass chain with cut and polished sides, which is rugged and tough, contrasting with the retro quilted check. The diamond-cut gold chain is a collection design of the brand, inspired by the metal chains around the Arc de Triomphe in Paris .

The chain goes directly through the cover and is fixed on both sides. The round hole is protected by a metal ring and engraved with the CELINE PARIS logo. The connection of the top ring buckle makes the chain rotation more flexible, and the faceted chain ring is more comfortable to carry on the body.
The 32cm chain length is suitable for carrying on one shoulder or by hand, and it will not feel restrictive even when paired with a relatively thick autumn and winter coat.

The polished and shiny CELINE metal logo becomes the most eye-catching focus on the bag. It is made of brass metal, and the three-dimensional embossed structure has a very high-end texture.
CELINE started using a new logo in September 2018. The design was inspired by the brand's early logo in the 1960s. The accent mark above the letter "É" in the old CÉLINE was removed, and the spacing between letters was narrowed to make the structure more compact, with an overall more modern and simple look.
