Design inspiration
The Cartier red jewelry box has a history of more than 100 years. The box adopts a ruby octagonal appearance, with a golden wreath trim on the edge and black velvet or white silk to set off the jewelry.
Guirlande wreath
The handbag is named after the French word "Guirlande" (wreath) . This wreath-shaped trim originated from ancient Greek architecture . During festivals, people would hang wreaths and ribbons on porches or altars for decoration. Later, it was gradually replaced by marble carvings and became part of the building.
The bag body uses the octagonal outline of Cartier's little red box and optimizes it, adopting a trapezoidal structure that is narrow at the top and wide at the bottom. The longer bottom edge makes the bag body more stable and upright, and it looks more elegant and gentle.
It has a small flap design, with the flap extending from the middle of the handle and a hidden magnetic buckle for opening and closing. The front and back of the bag and the edge of the flap are hot-stamped with a gold frame and wreath trim , making the bag look more delicate.
The bag cover has two ways of closing. It can be hung outside to increase the layering of the bag, or it can be fixed inside the bag with the buckle on the front to reveal the complete octagonal outline. The two styles can be switched in one second.
Octagonal structure
The octagonal structure is made of calfskin, which is delicate and upright. The oil edges and sewing techniques are very sophisticated. There are almost no metal parts on the whole bag , making it lighter.
The sides have a natural semi-accordion pleat structure, and the central compartment blends naturally with the handle lines to form a balanced triangular structure.

The lining is black calfskin , which echoes the black velvet inlaid with jewels in the little red box. The central compartment divides the bag into two compartments , and the handle is fixed above the partition layer with a metal buckle.
It is equipped with a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap , with metal buckles fixed on both sides of the handle, and the sliding buckle design allows the shoulder strap to fit the body better when carried on the body.
What can this bag hold?
There is a clip pocket on the bag's partition with a makeup mirror inside . The front is engraved with the Cartier logo and the words Paris, Londres and New York, representing the flagship stores in Paris, London and New York where this handbag was first sold.
Although it is pocket-sized, this bag is much more practical than expected. We put a box of air cushion powder, an iPhone X, a card holder, perfume, lip gloss and Airpods in the bag. It can hold all the small things that girls usually carry when going out. The bag is quite stiff, so it will not affect the shape even if it is full.
