Horsebit
The inspiration of the horsebit comes from the traditional horsebit , which is a metal lever placed in the horse's mouth. The rider uses the pressure generated by the reins and the horsebit to "communicate" with the horse and control the direction of the horse. Archaeological research shows that humans have begun to use horsebits as early as 4000 BC.
Different Types of Horse Bits
Equestrianism emerged in Europe from the 19th century to the early 20th century. In 1900, the Paris Olympics listed equestrian obstacle course as an official event for the first time. Elements related to equestrianism have also been gradually extended to the fashion field. CELINE has been incorporating horsebits into single product designs as belt buckles and printed patterns since the 1960s.

From Fall/Winter 2019 to Spring/Summer 2020, Hedi Slimane has been inspired by the 1960s "French New Wave" (La Nouvelle Vague) style for two consecutive seasons , taking us back to the birthplace of the brand through handbags and reliving the old days of Paris in the 1960s.
The horsebit is the only hardware decoration on this bag . It is fixed to the saddle-shaped part of the bag opening by a belt buckle. The CELINE logo is engraved on one side of the D-shaped bit, which is low-key and exquisite.
Bucket bag type
The shape of the bag is different from the common straight bucket. The bottom is a perfect circle , and the body of the bag gradually narrows from bottom to top, and it looks fan-shaped from the side . This design fits the body better when worn on one shoulder or crossbody, and is more stable when placed upright. The curved lines of the bag mouth are close to the outline of the saddle, and also echo the horsebit.

The original calfskin has a vintage texture, which is particularly suitable for the lazy bucket bag shape. The exposed stitching highlights the body lines of the bag, and also has higher requirements for the sewing process.
The upper part of the bag is made of double-layer leather, which makes the bag more upright and stylish. The outer layer is black oiled edge, and the inner layer oiled edge is the same color as the leather. The details are also very exquisite.
The shoulder strap can be adjusted in length by a metal buckle . The shortest is suitable for one shoulder and the longest is suitable for crossbody.
What can this bag hold?
The bag features a top zipper closure and is lined with tan lambskin , which is soft and breathable, and a single-layer large compartment setting maximizes the internal space.
We put an iPhone, a short wallet, a coin purse, a cushion foundation, a lipstick, perfume and a jewelry box in the bag, which only took up about half of the space. The bag is very light, and the bucket-shaped body can be stuffed full to make the bag look fuller.
