This Soft Trunk Wallet with blue sky and white clouds print is a LV 2020 autumn and winter men's show model. Design inspiration

The Soft Trunk is a modern interpretation of the classic LV Trunk suitcase. It debuted at the 2019 Spring/Summer Men's Fashion Show and is the first collection released by Virgil Abloh after he became the creative director of LV Men's Fashion. Louis Vuitton launched the world's first flat trunk in 1858. It uses lightweight and wear-resistant waterproof canvas as the outer skin and a poplar wood frame. It is lighter than traditional dome suitcases and easier to stack and transport, making it popular among travelers. The Trunk suitcase not only represents LV's most exquisite box-making craftsmanship, but also becomes the source of inspiration for the brand's modern bags. The women's collection launched the Petite Malle small box in the fall and winter of 2014, and the men's collection derived the Soft Trunk bag.

Compared to the regular-sized Soft Trunk released in the previous two seasons, the new Wallet launched this season is longer and flatter. The industrial-style chain on the shoulder strap is simplified to a single carabiner, and a detachable shoulder strap design is adopted, which not only makes the bag much lighter, but can also be used as an accessory of a clutch or large bag.

Two leather belts are added to the bag body , making the proportions closer to the appearance of a classic hard case, and also making the slender and thin silhouette stiffer, echoing the reinforced corners.

The bag body is still made of lightweight and waterproof Monogram coated canvas , with a translucent white monogram pattern superimposed on a refreshing blue and white gradient background .

LV's most classic and recognizable Monogram coated canvas was originally a fabric covering the wooden surface of travel suitcases. Its advantages are lightness, wear resistance, light weight, and excellent waterproof performance.

The monogram pattern dates back to 1896 and has been used as a canvas pattern for travel suitcases to this day. It is inspired by the Japanese "pattern" design of the Victorian era and combines the LV letter logo and four-petal flower graphics. The blue sky and white clouds print is the most eye-catching design element on this bag. The misty clouds ☁️ LV logo reminds people of the paintings of Belgian surrealist painter Rene Magritte.

The LV 2020 Fall/Winter Men's Collection is based on the utopian concept of "Heaven on Earth" . Virgil Abloh uses clouds as a symbol of freedom, unity and peace. The dreamy clouds floating in the sky imply breaking free from constraints.

The soft body reduces the sharpness of the hard case structure and is more casual. The corner design reinforced with round nails condenses the key details of the Trunk suitcase, and the iconic "Tumbler lock" of the suitcase is replaced by a simple zipper , which is a style that interweaves classic and modern.

The bag is equipped with a detachable and adjustable leather shoulder strap , which can be worn as a clutch or shoulder bag. The shoulder strap is fixed to both sides of the bag with a silver carabiner and a square buckle . There are 5 levels of adjustment holes, ranging from 43cm to 51cm in length , to meet the needs of different body shapes and is also very friendly to girls. The rugged metal design continues Virgil Abloh's street style.

What can this bag hold?

The bag is opened and closed with a two-way zipper and the lining is made of blue fabric . It can be opened to a maximum angle of about 45°, making it easy to store and access items without having to worry about things falling out.

There is a flat inner pocket and 6 card slots on the back, with a hot-stamped silver logo and the 2020 autumn and winter men's series logo. There is also a zipper pocket on the front , which can be used to store important items such as mobile phones, tickets, and documents.

The soft body of the bag makes it very suitable for storage. Although it is a wallet, it is lighter than the women's Petite Malle small hard case and has a larger capacity.
