The Speedy P9 handbag is the first bag created by Pharrell Williams, the creative director of Louis Vuitton menswear, for the brand. Louis Vuitton's classic Speedy leather travel bag was born in 1930 and was designed by Gaston-Louis Vuitton , the third-generation heir of the brand . It was originally named the "Express" travel bag, inspired by people's fascination with speed and cars at the time. The bag is based on the Keepall travel bag and adopts a smaller and more daily handbag specification. It can be flattened and stored in a suitcase.

In 1959, the Speedy handbag reappeared in Monogram canvas material, attracting celebrities such as Audrey Hepburn to "bring goods". The new Speedy P9 handbag debuted in the 2024 Spring/Summer Menswear Collection created by Pharrell Williams, the menswear creative director. It is named after the Pont Neuf (P9) , where this season's menswear show was held. The design is inspired by the multicultural and bustling atmosphere of Canal Street in Lower Manhattan, New York , where Pharrell first got his fashion inspiration . The bag features a soft silhouette with eye-catching colors, which not only interprets the classics but also reflects the future.

The Speedy was a men's canvas bag until 1965, when a smaller version was created for Audrey Hepburn. I wanted to design a bag that was gender neutral and suitable for all people, that could fit into any setting and become part of daily life in all walks of life.

The bag is made of soft grained cowhide leather and high-quality sheepskin lining , continuing the trapezoidal structure of the classic Speedy travel bag . The soft construction allows the bottom of the bag to be folded and hung at will during daily use.

The calfskin has a buttery touch and is rendered with a highly saturated blue background. The contrasting white Monogram pattern is presented on the leather through a high-precision screen printing process . The deliberately blurred "Sergé" word adds a hand-painted artistic effect to the printed pattern.

Equipped with iconic LV bag accessories such as tubular handles made of VVN leather, luggage tags, key bags, etc., leather piping outlines the side contours, and the zipper head can be fixed to the side metal buckle through a safety lock to enhance the safety factor of the bag. The Louis Vuitton logo is engraved on the vintage copper hardware , and every detail is exquisite.

The interior is equipped with a detachable zipper bag made of the same leather as the bag , which can be fixed on the inner D-shaped ring to store small items such as keys and credit cards, and can also be used as a small handbag for temporary travel. A customizable metal nameplate is also sewn on the inside of each handbag , engraved with information such as the release season, size, and the design theme of Pharrell Williams' first show "The Sun Is Shining on Us", which comprehensively enhances the exclusiveness and collection attributes of Speedy P9.

The bag is equipped with a detachable and adjustable VVN leather shoulder strap , which allows different carrying methods such as hand carrying, shoulder carrying, and crossbody carrying. The leather shoulder pad design is also very considerate, so that the shoulders will not be hurt even if carrying heavy objects for a long time.
