Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Nano Speedy Handbag
Speedy Series
Louis Vuitton once again joins hands with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami to bring a limited edition collaboration series. This Nano Speedy handbag uses Monogram Multicolore coated canvas to create an exquisite configuration. The intertwined LV letters and floral patterns are rendered in 33 colorful shades . It is paired with VVN natural calfskin trim and a bow-shaped key bag , presenting a pleasant and fresh style.
This is the first time Louis Vuitton has collaborated with Takashi Murakami again in 20 years. In 2002, Marc Jacobs, then artistic director of Louis Vuitton, first encountered Murakami's works in Paris and was attracted by his rich colors and "super flat" two-dimensional painting style. He gladly invited the latter to collaborate. This collaboration also opened a new era of fashion crossing over art and culture, and the impact covered the entire mainstream culture of the early 2000s.
Under Murakami's creation, Louis Vuitton's classic Monogram pattern was given a kaleidoscopic effect - this is also the first new interpretation in the history of Monogram . The joyful colors not only echo Murakami's optimistic creative philosophy, but also largely define the Y2K aesthetics of the millennium, becoming a phenomenal popular item at the time.
The new season collaboration series still uses the Monogram Multicolore pattern as the core design element, and uses digital printing technology to render 33 pleasant tones for the LV letters and floral patterns . Relying on technological advances and exquisite craftsmanship, the printing effect of each piece has been upgraded and renewed, with brighter colors and clearer and more precise patterns.
The new Nano Speedy handbag also comes with a newly designed bow key bag pendant, made of VVN natural cowhide leather , with red hand-painted oil edges and exquisite hardware details. The sweet and cute bow fits the small and exquisite bag shape quite well, and the detachable design also gives the bag more matching possibilities.
The inside of the bag is also sewn with a special leather label from the 20th anniversary collaboration series , embossed with the words LOUIS VUITTON × MURAKAMI and Murakami’s iconic design elements such as smiley flowers, super-flat pandas, cherries and “Flower Hatman” , making the bag even more commemorative.
Back to the bag itself, Nano Speedy is the smallest member of the Speedy family, measuring only 16×10x7.5 cm . The palm-sized bag still condenses the Speedy's iconic three-dimensional configuration, zipper closure and Toron handle design, making it lively and elegant when carried in the hand.
Louis Vuitton's classic Speedy travel bag was born in 1930 and was designed by Gaston-Louis Vuitton , the third-generation heir of the brand . It was originally named the "Express" travel bag, inspired by people's fascination with speed and cars at the time. The bag is based on the Keepall travel bag and adopts a smaller and more daily handbag specification. It can be flattened and stored in a suitcase.
In1959, the Speedy handbag reappeared in Monogram canvas material, attracting celebrities such as Audrey Hepburn to "bring goods". In 1965, Louis Vuitton tailored a smaller Speedy 25 handbag for Hepburn to set off her petite figure. With its classic appearance, practical attributes and affordable price, Speedy has always been one of Louis Vuitton's most classic and best-selling it bags for nearly a century.
The bag is equipped with a detachable and adjustable long leather shoulder strap , which can be carried by hand, on one shoulder or across the body. The zipper and other hardware accessories are finely engraved with the LV or Louis Vuitton logo, and each part is made with ingenuity.
As a mini bag, Nano Speedy can still fit regular-sized smartphones such as iPhone Pro. The 7.5 cm wide body is also more than enough to store thicker air cushion powder, makeup mirror, tissues and other items, which is enough to meet simple travel needs. This collaboration series has launched nearly 200 items in total, and mothers can also match them with their children to go out on the street, which is also very loving.
