This Pochette Métis medium messenger bag is from the LV By The Pool 2023 summer capsule collection. It draws inspiration from traditional Portuguese hand-painted tiles . It uses cream canvas to highlight the LV letters and watercolor-effect Monogram flowers , and the refreshing blue and white tones are imbued with a midsummer atmosphere.

Design inspiration

Louis Vuitton's 2023 Summer Capsule Collection is themed "LV By The Pool" , drawing inspiration from the hand-painted tiles that can be seen everywhere on the streets of Lisbon . It uses a refreshing Mediterranean blue as the base color to exude a summery vibe.

The history of Portuguese handmade tiles (Azulejo) can be traced back to the 13th century . The earliest tile-making techniques were brought to the local area by the North African Moors who occupied the Iberian Peninsula (now Spain and Portugal) . Influenced by styles such as Spanish mosaics, Italian tin-glazed pottery and blue Delft tiles, and the Viennese Art Nouveau movement, it gradually evolved into a popular architectural decoration in the local area.

The new summer series combines the brand's classic Monogram flowers, LV letters and mosaic tile patterns . The gradient tones create a watercolor -like misty mood, presenting a light and moist look, reminiscent of a swimming pool with rippling water in summer. There are 4 different sizes of Monogram prints on the bag body and they are distributed symmetrically. The front and back sides are watercolor graffiti-style LV letters and Giant Monogram patterns . The sides and bottom of the bag are spliced with blue and white tile patterns. The printed patterns on the handles, shoulder straps and lining are added with black details, which are closer to the overall mosaic tile style. The scattered tile patterns are like different facades of a building. The blue hand-painted oil edges and white leather piping outline the three-dimensional body silhouette.

The bag features a rounded rectangular outline with an envelope-style flap . The iconic S-lock buckle and top handle are inspired by the brand's luggage. The internal 3-layer compartment design continues the practical storage attributes of the briefcase.

The S-lock clasp evolved from the "Tumbler clasp" on the brand's luggage , continuing the iconic shield-shaped buckle and rivet details. LV invented the single lock system with two spring buckles in 1886, and customized private locks with special numbers for customers, so that all luggage of each guest can be opened and closed with the same key.

Just push the round button on the lock gently towards the center, and the shield-shaped lock will automatically pop open with a crisp "click" sound.
