CELINE's new Maillon Triomphe handbag for Fall/Winter 2019 is a new variation of the Triomphe series. The "Triumph" lock , which was born in the 1970s , has been upgraded and re-engraved into an oval ring with a ring structure , becoming the most eye-catching decoration on the bag. The rounded saddle-shaped silhouette exudes a classic atmosphere, reminiscent of the bags of Parisian schoolgirls in the 1970s.

The Maillon Triomphe lock is the iconic design element of this bag. The Maillon and Triomphe in the name mean "chain" and "triomphe" in French , which means that it is inspired by the chain in front of the Arc De Triomphe in Paris.

This design originated from an unexpected experience of the founder, Ms. Céline Vipiana. One day in 1972 , when she was driving to the Arc de Triomphe, her car suddenly broke down. While waiting for rescue, she noticed the chain details around the square, and suddenly she was inspired to conceive the Chain Blason logo with two symmetrical C letters . This pattern was particularly common in Céline items in the 1970s, and could be seen on belts, bags and shirts.

After Hedi Slimane became the new creative director of CELINE in 2018 , he looked back to the brand's classics, brought the Chain Blason logo back to the public's attention, and directly named it "Triomphe" . The newly released Maillon Triomphe this season is a new variation of the Triomphe series.

The flap of the bag is made up of two parts, the horizontal flap and the vertical buckle, forming a T shape, which was the most common design of college bags in the 1970s. The shiny and polished Maillon Triomphe lock is decorated on it, like a delicate relief jewelry.

The double C logo is surrounded by an oval ring, forming a structure similar to a double-finger ring , which echoes the rounded shape of the bag. After rotating the lock, a hidden buttonhole structure is revealed, and the leather buckle is nested between the lock and the base.

The gold cut chain shoulder strap cannot be adjusted in length, but the 40cm height is very friendly. Whether it is carried on one shoulder or across the body, the bag can basically be kept above the hip line , making the figure appear taller.

After opening the flap, you can see the golden CELINE PARIS hot stamping logo, and the lining is made of lambskin of the same color , which is soft, breathable, wear-resistant and lightweight. There is a zippered inner pocket on the back to store small and valuable items.
