CELINE 's popular Triomphe handbag has launched a new shoulder bag style. The classic Box flap bag has evolved into a small and slender bag . The retro monogram canvas is embellished with a recognizable golden Triomphe buckle . The one-shoulder carrying method is comfortable and unconventional.

The Triomphe handbag is one of the first masterpieces brought by creative director Hedi Slimane after he took over in 2018. It traces back to the retro "Triumph buckle" element in the early days of CELINE's establishment in the 1970s, and continues to use the classic tofu bag shape of the Classic series . Four sizes have been launched: medium, small, Teen and Nano.

The Triomphe Shoulder shoulder bag made its debut on the 2021 Spring/Summer catwalk, compressing the original nearly square shape into an East-West slender shape , making the bag fit better on the body. For the first time, a short shoulder strap design was used , and the way of carrying it under the armpit combines retro elegance with street cool.

Triomphe

The polished and shiny Triomphe buckle is the most iconic design element of this bag. Like an exquisite relief decoration, it contains many details that make people gaze and reminisce.

Triomphe means "triumphal" in French, and it comes from the Arc de Triomphe in Paris . From the name to the design details, it is a revisit to the brand's history.

In 1972, the founder, Ms. Céline Vipiana, drove to the Arc de Triomphe when her car suddenly broke down. While waiting for rescue, she noticed the chain details around the square, and suddenly she was inspired to conceive the Chain Blason logo with two symmetrical C letters connected - which is also the prototype of the Triomphe logo.

The lock closure adopts a spring buckle design. Just press the buckles on both sides of the double C to unlock it , revealing the small and exquisite CELINE and TRIOMPHE gold-plated logos on the lining .

If the golden triumph buckle is the symbol of youth and modernity on this bag, then the Triomphe canvas is a declaration of retro fashion. From the 1970s to the 1980s, CELINE launched the C Sulky and Macadam canvas series handbags with the triumph logo as the main element. Until the 2000s, the CELINE canvas series was discontinued.

Hedi Slimane, the creative director of the 2019 Fall/Winter collection , once again refined the brand archives, bringing the CELINE monogram canvas back to the public eye and directly naming it Triomphe. The new version of the Triomphe print uses a gradient shadow change to create a three-dimensional relief effect , which is more low-key and more attractive than the original monogram.

The shoulder strap of the bag is made of brown calfskin , embellished with exposed stitching and black oil edges. There are 3 adjustment buckles on the shoulder strap , and the length can be fine-tuned to meet different styling needs.

The square and neat flap bag has the most optimized capacity among bags of the same size. The flat bottom allows the items in the bag to be put in their proper places and be clearly visible.

The lining is made of soft lambskin , and there is a flat inner pocket on the back for storing small items such as mobile phones or cards.
