The history of "cosmetic boxes" is very old. They were originally boxes used to hold makeup items. The oldest known cosmetic box was discovered by British archaeologist Howard Carter , which is more than 3,000 years old. The ancient Chinese cosmetic boxes "lián" (lián) lasted from the Warring States Period to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the 1920s, Europe also pushed the design of makeup boxes to new heights. Triomphe means "triumphal" in French, and it comes from the Arc de Triomphe in Paris . From the name to the design details, it is a revisit to the brand's history.

In 1972, the founder, Ms. Céline Vipiana, drove to the Arc de Triomphe when her car suddenly broke down. While waiting for rescue, she noticed the chain details around the square, and suddenly she was inspired to conceive the Chain Blason logo with two symmetrical C letters connected - which is also the prototype of the Triomphe logo.

The bag can be easily opened by simply pushing the Triomphe buckle . The metal strips open naturally to both sides, forming an extended closure of about 45° , which is just enough to store and access the items in the bag and avoid spilling.

From the 1970s to the 1980s, CELINE launched the C Sulky and Macadam monogram canvas series handbags with the triumph logo as the main element . Until the monogram trend faded in the 2000s, the CELINE canvas series was discontinued.

Hedi Slimane, the creative director of the 2019 Fall/Winter collection , once again refined the brand archives, bringing the CELINE monogram canvas back to the public eye and directly naming it Triomphe . The new version of the Triomphe print uses a gradient shadow change to create a three-dimensional relief effect , which is more low-key and more attractive than the original monogram.
