The CELINE Triomphe series launches a new chain shoulder bag style in the spring and summer of 2022 , continuing the small and slender rectangular outline and triumphal buckle elements. The biggest highlight is that the shoulder strap is replaced with an elegant and flexible metal chain , adding a cool attribute to the hot summer.

Design inspiration

The CELINE Triomphe handbag is one of the first masterpieces brought by creative director Hedi Slimane after he took over in 2018. It traces back to the retro "Triumph Buckle" element of the early days of CELINE's establishment in the 1970s, and continues the classic flap design of the Classic series. So far, it has launched a series of bag styles including the Box tofu bag, East-West shoulder bag, Besace saddle bag, Bucket bag, etc., establishing a complete "Triomphe universe".

The Triomphe chain shoulder bag made its debut on the 2022 Spring/Summer catwalk, continuing the slender East-West bag shape and short shoulder strap design. The one-shoulder carry method tucked under the armpit is comfortable and unconventional.

Triomphe buckle

The polished and shiny Triomphe metal buckle is the most eye-catching design element on the bag. Like an exquisite relief decoration, it contains many details that make people gaze and reminisce.

Triomphe means "triumphal" in French, and it comes from the Arc de Triomphe in Paris . From the name to the design details, it is a revisit to the brand's history.

In 1972, the founder, Ms. Céline Vipiana, drove to the Arc de Triomphe when her car suddenly broke down. While waiting for rescue, she noticed the chain details around the square, and suddenly she was inspired to conceive the Chain Blason logo with two symmetrical C letters connected - which is also the prototype of the Triomphe logo.

The lock closure adopts a spring buckle design. Just press the buckles on both sides of the double C to unlock it , revealing the small and exquisite TRIOMPHE gold-stamped logo on the lining .

· Chain shoulder strap

The metal chain shoulder strap is the biggest difference between this bag and the previous Triomphe series. The brass chain with a curly brass chain has been polished and cut, and the flat surface makes it more comfortable to carry. The bottom of the shoulder strap is a fixed structure and cannot be adjusted in length. The 30cm length caters to the current trend of underarm bags, creating a casual and free temperament, especially suitable for light travel in summer.

The bag body is made of Pale Grey light grey shiny calfskin , with stitching in the same color and an oiled edge of a slightly darker shade. The glaze texture is delicate and smooth, and the cool tones bring a refreshing atmosphere.

What can this bag hold?

The square and neat flap bag has the most optimized capacity among bags of the same size. The flat bottom allows the items in the bag to be put in their proper places and be clearly visible.

The lining is made of lambskin in the same color , and there is a flat inner pocket on the back , which can store small items such as mobile phones or cards. We put an iPhone, tissues, card holder, Airpods headphones, lipstick, keys and perfume in the bag. It can hold all the basic equipment for girls to go out, and it is light and practical for daily travel.
